You don't have to face your problems alone.
Sometimes it can be difficult to admit that one needs assistance, and to find the courage to ask for it. Perhaps you are struggling with employment or relationship obstacles, transitioning to a new chapter in your life, or even facing questions about your identity. You might be suffering from stress, anxiety, or depression, but you don't have to suffer alone. Therapy and counseling can help. As a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, I have guided my patients through these and many other difficulties, and I am ready to assist you with treatment responsive to your specific needs.
I specialize in working with professionals struggling to overcome barriers to fulfillment, whether it be in their careers, relationships, or other endeavors. My background as an attorney allows me to employ an adaptive and pragmatic approach to the therapy process. Prior to becoming a therapist, I practiced law for over a decade, helping clients to recover from tragic loss, resolve conflicts, and make difficult life choices, while at the same time facing the rigors of a demanding profession. This firsthand, practical experience in overcoming adversity informs my practice as a clinician.
I work well with patients who would otherwise find it difficult to reach out for help. I have experience in dealing with men's issues, LGBTQ issues, and other areas that require sensitivity and discretion. People have often described me as warm, empathetic, and straightforward, but above all I strive to treat all of my patients with respect and without judgment. My philosophy is that it is more important to know what sort of person has a problem than it is to know what sort of problem a person has. Rather than focus on what is "wrong" with you, we will marshal your strengths, and help you to see yourself as the protagonist of your own unfolding and empowering personal narrative. Please feel free to contact me to begin the journey toward positive change.
